Checking In

Hello to my friends. I know it has been a long time. I have been having such a great time with my family. I even sneak in a nap once in a while with Papa Jack & Momma Marge. Today I was staying with Aunt Jane. Mom & Dad had to go out of town. Aussie & Mom #1 can for a play date. I'm all grown up now and a beautiful girl. And I am VERY spoiled. We had some cookiesAnd a good wrestle. Ukon won't play like that with me.Hope to have more play dates as the weather warms up and the yard is not a mud hole.

My new family

No photo's today but a little update. I'm settling in to my new family very well. I even have a new name. They call me Misty. Which is just perfect because that's what Aunt Jane always called me (Miss T.) She could never remember, or say Tresa.
I am also training to be a hunting dog. I have a trainer that comes to the house several times a week and I love him. I'm learning hand commands and just bonding with my new Daddy Jack. The trainer said I'm very smart. DUH! we knew that. Mommy Marge is spoiling me rotten. They went away for the weekend and she left a whole list of instructions for Jane. Like she never took care of a dog before?
When the backyard is less of a pond Mom#1 and Aussie will come over for a visit. Thanks for checking my blog. Hopefully I'll have new photos soon.

Going Home

Today I'm moving to my new house. One last stop to see Jane before the move. I have a feeling I'm going to see a lot more of her now. I am moving in with her parents. The rest of the MacFarlane clan can't wait to meet me. I hear they have a big fenced in yard where I can run all day and some doggy neighbors on the other side of the fences. I think I'll be very happy there. I didn't even turn around to say goodbye to Mom when we left. Grandpa Jack had the bag with my kibble & cookies. I'm following him!

Our day in court

You probably remember the day I flew to Phoenix (March 10th.) That's the day Mom got a ticket because the officer said I was doing tricks & causing a crowd to develop at the airport. Today was the day to discuss her ticket with the judge. I couldn't go because I'm out of the program and can't wear the cape anymore. Mom was a little nervous. Those people at the airport are very serious. The rule is that at Metro airport pups in training need a permit. We didn't know that and PAWS didn't either. So no permit means a fine. A big one! The judge was nice and said if Mom didn't misbehave for 4 months then they would forget the whole thing. She's on probation. She was stressed out & upset with the whole thing. Good thing I'm still here at my first home to make her feel better. I plan on going to my new home at Grandpa Jack's at the end of the week.
Everything is settled for now. Back to my lunch.

Change in plans

I know I said before I was having a bad attitude. Well I still have a growling moment now & then. Not acceptable behavior for a girl that is in training. HQ has decided that this was not the right place for me.
No worries! I have found a wonderful family to adopt me. The best part is that they are the parents of my friend Jane & Ukon. So I'll be a spoiled girl and still get to see my friends once in a while. I'll keep you updated with my new life as a keeper dog. Aussie says it's the best job of all!

Checking out college

Over the weekend I got to visit college and have a professional photo shoot. Mom can't wait to see how the pictures turned out. It was a sunny day so I thought we could have an informal photo shoot also. You do not see grass hanging from my lip. It is all an illusion. I'm 7 months and my coat is filling out. I finally look more like a golden then a fuzzy rat. Rumor came to get her pictures also. She is so cute. She looks a lot like my sister for some reason. So does Kingsley. He is moving into the dorm today. We were all there to see him off and wish him luck in the big leagues.

Rock fetish

Ever since I went to Arizona I appreciate rocks a little more. There were so many to choose from in Sedona. I have developed a little love for a certain rock I found in my back yard. I carry it around and groom it. It doesn't seem special to Mom but I like it. We just have 2 rules. I can't chew or swallow it and it has to stay outside. I can live with that.

Attitude adjustment

We went back to the coney island for a get together. I was not being a good girl and grumbled a little at my friends. Mom was not happy with my bad behavior so I wasn't allowed to play anymore. I love my friends. I don't know what came over me. Hopefully I can get a new attitude real soon.
Cooley & Lightning are doing great. I need to be more like them. I guess that's why I'm a work in progress. Back to training I go. Wish me luck!

Last day on vacation

We got to go back to Grandma's house in Arizona before we left. I liked it. Then we went back to the airport. Phoenix has a great dog park while you wait for your plane. I got to do my business and sniff out the latest news. There was GREEN GRASS! Just when I learned to go on the rocks.
I need a rest from my vacation!

Swimming in Oak Creek Canyon

I found out I don't like to swim. Owen loves it. He would retrieve the stick all day long if you let him. I didn't like to get my belly or face wet. I think Owen should swim out and bring the stick to me so I don't get dirty and cold. I tried to get that stick but it was too far away.Mom, Grandma, Aunt Judy & Ann had fun too.

More sights to see

So everywhere you turn here is beautiful. I saw some new kinds of plants here.
Mom made me pose over and over and over again!
They have funny colored Jeeps that will take you down into the desert. It's a real bumpy ride. I'm glad my Jeep at home doesn't drive like that. You've got to remember to drink lots of water to stay hydrated.

Sedona bound

After a few days we went to Sedona. All the rocks are red there. We had a fancy place to stay with a big bathtub a shower missing one wallYou could even peek to the bedroom from the tub. I had to learn to "BREAK" on the rocks. No grass in the desert. We hiked and shopped a lot. I got very tired.
They have real cowboys here. They even have guns & sharp things on their boots
